24th February
This morning we woke up and it was chucking it down. We grabbed our raincoats to explore the shops more and have a look at the waves deciding that instead of surfing we’d body board again. Walking back through it almost flash flooded, the rain was so heavy cars were in danger of being flooded themselves.

No one was on the beach apart from two lifeguards so the whole beach was ours. It was bliss bodyboarding in the rain and it was only when we got cold that we stopped for lunch of Mexican nachos and tacos to warm us up.

As we chilled in the hostel the rain started to subside so we decided to go for a romantic, wet beach walk to the lookout for Dolphin spotting. Walking along Main beach, through Clark’s beach towards the pass (the headland).

This was where all the surfers were as the waves were huge and carried them for ages. On the pass was the lookout which gave you an incredible view of the surfers and bay. Perfect for Dolphins… yet, none appeared. The surfers were pretty skilled though.

Finally we headed back for our evening meal and entertainment. This was unusual but fun girls jelly wrestling. One of them got disqualified for choking her – brutal but the winner received 250 dollars and they all got champagne.
