19th February

Winning streak for us, third day we got up early enough for the free breakfast! Hahaha. As everyone knows timing for us is not a strong point.

A few markets had been propping up in conversations and on googling one happened to be on this morning and it was close. On getting there we realised it was a farmers market and we bought dragon fruit as Josh had never tried it before.

The stalls were hot foods, cold foods, hand made crafts, fruit and vegetables etc. It was so hot and we were so hungry we couldn’t resist the cold orange juice or fresh fruit but, our favourite was banana bread. Now becoming our favourite breakfast food!

This morning must have been the hottest with the highest humidity so far and we were getting irritable. Hard to believe I know haha. On finishing at the market we ran back and jumped into the pool.

BLISS!

Bunk Brisbane were putting on a free BBQ for its residents that late afternoon and we signed up at once. Walking to New Farm park…

…passing an alcohol bottle shop of course and this ensures we got talking to lodes of other travellers. The Scottish trio were the funniest and got us drunk so quickly, even before our BBQ had been cooked.

Even when most of the group went back we stayed out with the Scottish and watched the sunset. We also saw loads of huge bats flying over us. You felt part of Batman.

As it got later we needed to get back into the centre as we were meeting Kat – Joshs family South African friend. On the way, being clearly drunk and finding a trolley, I got in it for a ride.

Eventually we got into the centre and met Kat at the river bar for more drinks. It was pretty chilled untill a thunder and lightening storm started pouring on us. Josh really wanted the camera to catch that lightening shot but, watching the storm was fantastic with the reflections on the river.
