Today, we decided to check out the views of the highest glasshouse mountain – Mount Beerwah, 556m. To reach this hinterland town we had to get a bus and once at the information centre we got told not to do the highest mountain. So many people get stuck thinking they can walk up it, rock climb or absail down – they told us to do Mount Ngungun instead. After having a snack and play in the park (for I found Josh on the zip line) we walked 30 minutes to the base of the hike. Although, we did get lost but, we stumbled across some fancy looking houses and took some notes haha.

It took 1 hour to scramble up this mountain.

This was another great photo opportunity and today, butterflies were our target.

Whilst we were having lunch at the top we spoke to a local. He told us the smoke in the distance was a controlled forest fire and during the fires of 2019/2020 you could come up to see the devastation and smoke surrounding you and Mooloolaba in the distance. He said ‘it was kinda cool but very scary’.

It only took us 15 minutes to pretty much jog down and we were soon on the bus again, only this time Josh couldn’t stay awake. I had to hold him up otherwise I swear he would have gone into the aisle.
It was such a fun but exhausting day we just couldn’t be bothered to cook in the tiny kitchen. Therefore, Italian on the beachfront was perfect.
