12th March

As a group we decided to walk around Noosa National Park as the girls were heading off that evening. This trail started at Sunshine beach and continued around the coastline till Main beach and once again it was chucking it down. Whilst sheltering underneath a park information shelter the girls decided to head back, but we continued – like the hardcore adventurers we are.

From Sunshine beach we headed up onto the cliffs to Devils Kitchen where we watched huge waves crashing onto the rocks.

As we got over to Lions head it started to rain again and ended up sheltering with some rangers at Alexandra Bay. This was another long sandy beach which looked tropical even whilst raining.

Giving up waiting for the rain to ease we walked on to Hells Gate – a supposedly good lookout. By the time we got to Picnic Cove in Granite Bay we were starving and had our picnic sitting on the rocks watching surfers.

Continuing on to the all famous Fairy Pools for a swim and splash. These were similar to the champagne pools in Morton Island but, smaller and with stronger waves and currents.

Finally we got round Dolphin point and Tea Tree Bay where we thought would be a fantastic future surfing spot. This long raining walk ended up along a board walk to the main town of Noosa where we treated ourselves to cheesy chips and a hot drink before I fell asleep at the hostle.
