Australia

28th February

The weather was forecasted for sunshine all day. Finally! Finally! So we took our time getting down to the beach. Exploring the city further by going into Places like TimeZone – an arcade – and rushing around like a lunatic for leaving my phone in the toilet (luckily a cleaner had it) phew!

Strolling along to a good beach spot we came across a sand art festival. The structures built out of sand were insane and all were Disney character based or scenes out of a children’s book: Jack and the beach stalk, Goldilocks and the Three bears, Ariel, Tortoise and the Hare… lodes more. The biggest one was the Mad Hatters Tea Party.

Making it to the beach we setting down to sunbath however, after about 20 minutes the clouds came over. More rain for us, although we did still enjoy the sea and crashing waves. These waves were huge though and we both got washing machined at least twice.

After our poor attempt at sunbathing we cheered ourselves up by going up the tallest building in Australia – Sky Point (322m). Deciding to go for dinner aswell. The views you got of surfers paradise was 360 degree and I soon grabbed a table looking out over the sea and city.

Staying up here for dinner was worth it. The sunset cast different colours over each part of the city and the food was cheap but amazing. Pudding was not needed really but a chocolate mud cake whilst people watching is always worth it. As you can see from the photo I got cold and so our very unclassy look was one of a kind as the evening classy diners started ascending.
