Today it was sunny with not a cloud in sight so we walked to Main beach from our hostel ‘Freedom Hostels’ for a day of relaxation. Two boys from the hostel ended up joining us as well.

This was one of the best beach days, sunbathing, making sand turtles, kicking the football round, frisbee, music and swimming in the waves. Their was a sand bank further out where the waves broke first before breaking again on the shore. Swimming out to body surf here was very fun, although the current was strong and the waves big. I didn’t stay there for long as I got washing machines a few times. Not pleasant! You could also see the famous rainbow sands from the beach although far off.

This afternoon we made a huge decision (coronavirus related) and decided to head up to Townsville and not down to Brisbane to go home. Here we decided to stay in Australia.

After this we relaxed our brains with a walk to find the rainbow steps and the along the beach.
